The Gathering Basket: An Herbal Exchange Group

Interested in Appalachian herbs, traditional plant knowledge, growing, foraging, and herbal medicine practices? Come to this in-person community herbal exchange at the Twelvepole Trading Post (524 Hendricks St, Wayne, WV 25570) in Wayne, WV!

Inspired by the way this knowledge has always been passed through Appalachian communities, passed between family members, neighbors, gardeners, foragers, growers, and healers, The Gathering Basket will help create a space where both plants and knowledge can be shared. Rather than functioning only as a seed or plant swap, the exchange would provide opportunities for participants to exchange herbs, seeds, starts, dried plants, growing knowledge, recipes, stories. Participants can also connect them with financial, and technical resources to grow their operations, and expand the herbal economy in southern West Virginia .
