Come join the team at LiKEN! Livelihoods Knowledge Exchange Network, Inc. (LiKEN) is a non-profit organization that works to build a more just and equitable world by supporting the work of at-risk and overburdened communities. We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team.
The Bookkeeper is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of LiKEN, including bookkeeping, budgeting, and financial reporting. The Bookkeeper will work closely with the Executive Director, the Assistant Director, and other LiKEN staff to ensure that LiKEN's finances are accurate, efficient, and compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. This person will assist with bookkeeping for LiKEN’s fiscal sponsorees and core nonprofit partners.
Position Duties:
General Ledger & Budget Management
Coding and tracking day-to-day transactions
Managing overall budget & cash flow
Assist with annual budget and forecasting
Accounts Payable
Tracking and paying bills
Tracking and paying employee reimbursements
Submitting payroll and paying Employees
Tracking invoices or timelogs and paying contractors
Accounts Receivable
Drafting invoices for Budget lead review and Logging pledges
Tracking transactions to ensure they are classed / coded correctly
Identifying missing or misclassified transactions in monthly review process
Logging invoices properly in Quickbooks or Grant Management Portfolio
Managing payments between Fiscal Sponsorees, Vendors, and Subawardees
Tracking incoming and outgoing transactions
Maintaining vendor lists
Collecting W9s and issuing 1099s as required
Other overall responsibilities
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
Research or advise on best practices and platforms to meet LiKEN’s bookkeeping and accounting needs
Assist outside accountant(s) or controllers with LiKEN’s tax preparation or other required reporting
Perform other duties as assigned
Candidate Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or 10 years of work experience without a degree
Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to meet deadlines
Computer literacy, and knowledge of Google, Microsoft suite, and related software.
Qualifications which are a plus:
3+ years of experience in a financial role
Experience with nonprofit organizations
Experience with government grants
Experience with financial software
Experience with human resources or payroll
Compensation: Pay will be commensurate with the experience, skills, and qualifications that the candidate brings to the position in the range of $50,000-65,000.

This is a full time, salaried position (at least 30 hours per week) with competitive benefits. We will consider applicants who live anywhere in the United States, but our main offices are located in Richmond, Kentucky and Franklin, West Virginia. Most of the work will be conducted remotely but it is desirable if the person could be available to travel for occasional in-person meetings in the region.
